Movies the Old-Fashioned Way

August 28, 2010

The Kimball/DOG St. Theater has a decent September/October set coming up, and I thought I’d note here for myself and anyone else who might have this in their RSS reader the upcoming shows that I think look… interesting. As a note, some of the times are almost relentlessly inconvenient.
JOAN RIVERS: A PIECE OF WORK
September 1-7, (1-3, 5, 7, Screening room), 4:30 and 6:15PM
AGORA
September 10-17 (11, 13, 15, 17 screening room), 4:15 and 6:30PM
THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE
September 15-24 (16, 18, 20-21, screening room) 4:30 and 7PM
WINTER’S BONE
September 26 – October 2 (27-28, 30, Oct. 2, screening room) 4:30 and 6:20PM, October 3 6:30 and 8:20PM
GET LOW
October 23-29 (24-26, 28, screening room) 4:45 and 6:45PM
RESTREPO also looks very good, but… it sounds like a tough movie to watch. A company of soldiers stationed at a highly dangerous posting in Afghanistan… I doubt the movie ends with them all petting a fuzzy bunny.
